The Downtown Housing Boom!
In the last three years, nearly 2,500 new condos, lofts, town homes and apartments have been constructed in the downtown Milwaukee area, representing 40 building complexes and more than $530 million in investments. As a result, downtown Milwaukee's population has boomed more than 20% and it is still growing every year! This growth reflects a nationwide shift from the suburbs to downtown as a living destination.

Arts, Culture & Entertainment
Over the last twenty years Milwaukee's arts and cultural community has truly blossomed and become nationally recognized as an innovative leader. Milwaukee has not one, but two opera companies. It is also home to a ballet company, a symphonic orchestra, art museums, galleries and numerous professional theatres. In addition to all of the artistic venues, Milwaukee is home to the world-renowned Milwaukee Public Museum and one finest zoos in the United States, the Milwaukee County Zoo.

The Calatrava addition to the Milwaukee Art Museum, named the Best Design of 2001 by Time Magazine, is internationally recognized.

The Milwaukee area also supports an abundance of individual artists whose work is shown nationally and internationally. The vitality of Milwaukee's cultural scene is enhanced by a strong entertainment life from music to gaming at Potawatomi Bingo Casino. Recognized for Summerfest, the mid-summer music festival selected as Music Festival of the Year in 2001, Milwaukee is often described as a city of festivals with numerous ethnic and neighborhood celebrations held throughout the year.
