"Stunning icon of renewal" - The Times
"Today it (Milwaukee) has shed its nickname as 'rust-buckle of the rust belt' and restored its bold city centre. It has also built a stunning icon of renewal in Santiago Calatrava’s lakeside art gallery, a great white goose wing seeming to fly out over the lake." -- The Times of London, November 2, 2004

BusinessWeek features Milwaukee's Robert W. Baird & Co.

The October 3, 2005 issue of BusinessWeek has a cover story about today’s work-life entitled “The Real Reasons You're Working So Hard...and what you can do about it.”  As part of this cover story, the online edition of BusinessWeek highlights Milwaukee’s Robert W. Baird & Co. in a piece entitled “How Baird Keeps Its Balance.” Baird’s CEO Paul Purcell outlines how the firm has become a national leader as one of the best places to work.

As a side note, Fortune magazine and the Society for Human Resource Management have also singled out a few other companies in the Milwaukee region as national leaders when it comes to great places to work.  Along with Robert W. Baird, S.C. Johnson and Harley-Davidson are on the list of best large companies and included under the heading of small business groups is the architectural firm Kahler Slater and the employee mobility services company Runzheimer International.
